Since when . . .

. . . did Value Village become a ripoff? I hadn't been in a couple years, but decided to head in today with the kids to check it out, since it's not far from my house. The prices weren't that much cheaper than I'd pay at a really nice consignment shop or even Ross, but the clothes are definitely worse quality and there were scary Halloween costumes everywhere. The good news: I got some super cute stuff for the kids, which is saying a lot because I really don't spend much time and money on their clothes. 90% of Chloe's clothes are Maddie's hand-me-downs, and most of those were used too. I like it that way, but sometimes it's just fun to get cute stuff for my girls. My ($5) splurge was an adorable jacket for Chloe. Here's a (crappy) picture I took:Here are a couple of cute pix of the girls in their new clothes:

I really LOVE that you posted this. I have been looking for filler things for the house and so I went to Goodwill - found a few things and than Value Village - what a stink'n rip off. May I give you my example? Great! I see this cute candle holder = OK I think I'll take that... flip it over to see the cost - $6.99 and it still shows the originals Marshal's price tag for $3. Are you kidding me?!? I walk up to an employee to ask him how they price and if it can be adjusted. He takes it from me, says 'Oh - I'll take care of that' and walks off, never returning. As I go to leave the store... there the candle stick stands on a cart to be reshelfed with (yep) the same price tag as before.
